multimedia words
Multimedia writing is a multifaceted and adaptable writing format that changes as the environment around it changes. 100 years ago multimedia writing was much different than what it is today, showing its ability to adapt to emerging technologies. The exact definition of multimedia writing can be broken down by examining its simple roots. Webster defines media as: a medium of cultivation, conveyance, or expression and the prefix of multi simply means multiple. So it means, multiple mediums of conveyance, of communication through words. Multimedia writing can be exemplified by crayons on a poster board or text on a web page. It is what the writer needs it to be which can be convenient when doing the writing but difficult to encompass with a uniform definition.
Multimedia text, on the other hand, is the base of multimedia writing. It is what multimedia writing I made up of. Without text there would be no writing, words are the base of communication and writing is just a form of communicating. Multimedia text can be as simple as the titles of slide or subtitles that translate a movie for all to understand. It allows for human comprehension and clarification of thoughts or ideas. Multimedia text is what is being conveyed in multimedia writing and it is what makes multimedia writing possible.
