Delphi Documentary Project Log 4
Not much happened this week as far as documentary progress. We did however design some of the post production materials. Nick and I worked on the poster, John worked on the dvd cover, and Aaron created the flyer. They turned out pretty well, but John is still finishing his up. We need to make some of the tshirt designs this weekend, and print off a couple more of the flyers to post up. It is also on the agenda to put some final touches on the documentary for Tuesday.
Delphi Documentary Project Log 3
We have made a lot of progress on our documentary. We have done all of our voice overs and pieced the entire movie together. I believe we can officially call it a final rough cut, all we need is criticism from viewers. John has had a lot of trouble rendering the movie in premier but said that he got it saved off as an iso and attempted to burn it to a dvd this morning. I don't know how that went but hopefully it succeeded so that we will have a dvd form of the movie for the showcase tomorrow.
Delphi Post Production Materials
1) A keyboard with keys broken off of it (this applies to the video of the crazy kid at the end of our documentary)
2) Old NES cartridge with the title of our documentary on it ... this would be much harder to do than to break a keyboard though
3) We could do things like on that cafepress website (shirts, hats, and whatnot)
I'm not quite sure what else we would do or if that is sufficient.
Delphi Documentary Project Log 2
Our storyboard is attached below. I think it still needs some cleaning up and extending in some spots, as well as a much more prominent script. Anyhow, here it goes.

SourceForge.net
For the genre analysis I chose to review SourceForge.net. SourceForge.net is an online community for people to share openly programs and source code for those projects. On our website we want to have a section that is dedicated to allowing users to upload, host, and maintain their personal video game projects.
Checking out the Competition: Gamefaqs.com
One of the websites that is very similar to what we are hoping to accomplish with this project is www.Gamefaqs.com. This website is based around users submitting reviews, guides, cheats, as well as contributing to the site’s forums. A more in depth analysis in contained within my attachment (prepare for a wall of text). You'll have to excuse the formatting on the pdf. It looked a bit nicer in Word, but I had to use Google docs to make it and it screwed with my formatting.
Delphi E&S > Gamespot
Group Delphi E&S is working on a video game related website, for those who didn't know (Website proposal). We decided to inspect some related websites, my choice being Gamespot, a website frequented by those searching for video game related news and reviews. This genre analysis will discuss Gamespot's conventions and why they are good or bad.
