Delphi Documentary Project Log 4

Not much happened this week as far as documentary progress. We did however design some of the post production materials. Nick and I worked on the poster, John worked on the dvd cover, and Aaron created the flyer. They turned out pretty well, but John is still finishing his up. We need to make some of the tshirt designs this weekend, and print off a couple more of the flyers to post up. It is also on the agenda to put some final touches on the documentary for Tuesday.

Delphi Documentary Project Log 3

We have made a lot of progress on our documentary. We have done all of our voice overs and pieced the entire movie together. I believe we can officially call it a final rough cut, all we need is criticism from viewers. John has had a lot of trouble rendering the movie in premier but said that he got it saved off as an iso and attempted to burn it to a dvd this morning. I don't know how that went but hopefully it succeeded so that we will have a dvd form of the movie for the showcase tomorrow.

T4L LARP Documentary - Introduction

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfNpRFgUiXE

Here's the link to the introduction we made. We also spent time polishing the rough cut quite a bit, however I didn't have time to get it rendered out and uploaded to youtube yet.

All we need to do still is record voice overs and create a conclusion of some kind. We're definitely on the home stretch of finishing this, it's turning out to be quite epic.

T4L LARP Documentary Rough Cut

Here's the rough cut of the LARP Documentary, runtime 10 minutes 23 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7TXl8V2R18

We
still need to add voiceovers and create an intro / conclusion wrap
up. Some of the clips could be arranged better as well, but the
majority, if not all, of the footage is there.

Progress Log #1

Project Status
Some footage has been recorded but more would really be useful.

Research
Most of the research has already been done at this point. We are trying to track down a couple people who have been sued by the RIAA. I searched a bit for some sites which promote piracy to record some stock footage. That is pretty much the extent of my research.

My Project Log FLPR

Thus far, the process has been overwhleming and unanticipatedly difficult. A lot of that has to do with our topic which seems to have sparked aversion from the students that we tried to interview. Furthermore, trying to interview one of the students who got fined by the RIAA has also been unsuccessful. The contact Angie provided us has not responded yet, and the Purdue student who has outspokenly spoken in the Exponent and NPR, "Amber," does not disclose her last name, making it even harder to get a hold of her. We will thus be possibly taking a different approach to our movie.

Our storyboard is attached below. I think it still needs some cleaning up and extending in some spots, as well as a much more prominent script. Anyhow, here it goes.

FLPR Documentary Project Log

Week of 10/14-10/20

We are having trouble getting people on camera for such a controversial topic. They are afraid to have their face associated with the questions that we ask them. Because of this, we have little footage to use for our documentary and are trying to think of different approaches to gaining useful footage.

We hope to have all our footage done by the end of the week and get started compiling the rough cut ASAP.
